My name is Matt Hall
My work explores the boundaries between art and science, between the magical and the real. My interest is in themes of memory and loss, renewal and reinvention. With a heavy nod to memento-mori, wunderkammer, natural history, magical realism, and didactic models of the early 18th and 19th century. Scientific preservation techniques blended with a modern sculptural sensibility and fine art training, create work that's a reflection of nature’s beauty and the wonder of the world.
I specialize in taxidermy and osteological restorations, Mount making and general weirdness.
I'm always interested in new projects. Feel free to reach out with requests, commissions, or corpse donations.
